ATTENDANCE: Official coaching dates are scheduled prior to the beginning of the season. Coaching times will be assigned by individual faculty members at the start of each trimester. It is important for each member of the ensemble to be at all coachings and rehearsals. In the event of an emergency, ensemble members and their faculty coach should be contacted, and an alternate coaching time may be scheduled at the discretion of the faculty.

PERFORMANCES AND MASTERCLASSES: Participation is expected at all trimester ending concerts, masterclasses and other scheduled events throughout the season. Additionally, selected ensembles will have opportunities to represent ACMS at various outreach performances.

REHEARSALS AND PRACTICING: Groups are encouraged to rehearse on their own as much as possible. Space is available at the church on scheduled coaching days and groups are also encouraged to rehearse at ensemble members' homes during the week. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain a recording of the piece they are preparing along with a study score. Ideally, each member of the group becomes familiar with every note of the piece, and not just their own part.

COMMUNICATION: Players are advised to exchange phone numbers and email addresses with other ensemble members and their coach, and it is recommended that they keep a copy of this vital information in their cases and on their calendars.

FEES: There is an annual program fee of $100 per student. Tuition cost per ensemble is $80 per one hour coaching session, divided evenly among members, or $120 for ensembles who opt for ninety-minute coachings. There are approximately 8 sessions per trimester. Additionally, individual faculty members, in agreement with their ensembles, may choose to schedule extra coaching days or extended coaching times within each trimester for additional charge.

Tuition and Program fee are payable to:
Artaria Chamber Music School.

Fall trimester tuition and annual program fee are due by September 11, 2010.

AUDITIONS: To schedule an audition time, call Nancy Oliveros at 651-554-1777 or email nancy@artariaquartet.com.

You should be prepared to perform a 3-octave scale, major or minor, and a movement from a concerto, sonata, or unaccompanied Bach. You will be asked to sightread an excerpt from the standard quartet literature.

An application form should be downloaded in advance from this website and mailed to:

ACMS, 980 Bellows Street, St Paul, MN 55118.

Students who audition after September 4 will be placed in groups as positions become available. Please note that while we do our best to accommodate all qualified players, an audition does not guarantee you a place in an ensemble.
